I'm a fairly serious amateur photographer, and we have an old saying. "The best camera is the one you have with you". Or as a music lover, I could quote, "If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with."
I would have liked a chrome bumper big block, but have a '76 small block. As the months go by, it's really growing on me, and I don't feel like I've compromised so much.
They're all beautiful, but to me, the 68-72's are still the classiest.
But, I'm getting to love my '76.
For me it’s not a matter of what year is best, but what is it I like about certain years. I have always loved the look of the 80-82 but never liked the bubble back window and the front fender vents. I prefer the interior of the pre 78 cars. I like the removeable rear window of the 68-72 and the hood of the 74-75. So no one year will tick all the boxes for me. So I built my 77 to have all those things. That is my idea of the best year.
I have to agree with persuader on the back window. Much more a fan of the sugar scoop back than the bubble window. I do kind of dig the ‘73 with the clean front end and the chrome bumper on the back. I think that year really looks classy!
