Did you get 4" x 10", 10 ohm speakers? If not, will the thickness of the speaker fit in the sub-structure behind the kick panels? Hopefully, you measured behind the kick panels before ordering the speakers. If so, it's just a matter of working up some mounting brackets that connect the front surface of the speaker housing to the metal members in that area.

I did get the 4x10 =10 ohm speakers 7T1vette but did not measure first ( ) I was thinking I could make some packers for the brackets to make them work

I suspect that they will fit fine. That's the same size as was installed by the factory. Are you still using the stock Delco head unit?

I would recommend that you buy ONE fiberglass ceiling tile (2' X 4') at Lowe's or other building supply store. It should have a thin layer of plastic on one side. Cut pieces to fit behind the speaker on all wall faces. Use construction adhesive (Liquid Nails, etc) to put some squiggles of adhesive on the plastic face and attach them to the side walls and back face of the kickpanel opening. That will provide some dampening to the speaker 'box' for eliminating harmonic vibrations and rattles. Don't pack that cavity full of fiberglass. The speakers need to have some available air space behind them to avoid building any pressure.

If you bought some high-wattage speakers with big magnets in the back, they may not fit in the space available; and you won't get much volume from them if they are connected to the stock Delco radio. The stock unit only produced 14 watts (rms) of power per channel. If your speakers have relatively small magnets and are capable of around 50 watts (peak), you will be fine. It doesn't take much sound power to fill a C3 cockpit and your ears!

Let us know how it goes!
