On the 81 I installed a later Chevy Truck mirror. Looks the same. If it mounts on the windshield button, it is not altering the car in anyway. Switch it back to sell/show. 5 minutes.

This is the ebay one. I like the compass/ outside temp deal.
You have to pull the trim and run 4 wires for this if you want the features to work.

Just curious, if I use the mirror you suggest where do the 4 wires go to? Is there a temp/compass sending unit that comes with it?

2 wires are to key on source, two run to outside sensor. I mounted mine in front of radiator.
The e-bayer I bought mine from sold the whole deal for $50
