Default ‘73 Seat Question

Hi everyone-
A bit perplexed with these seats in my 73.
The PO must have gotten new covers because they are clothe.
My wife wants them back to vinyl or leather but when you look at the seat covers for 73 they have the shoulder belt cutout, which these don’t.
Guess my question is, are these from
a different year?
Or are non shoulder belt version available?
Or is there something else I’m not thinking of?
Thanks much in advance.

Glen

Hopefully they just installed the seat covers over the hardware but odds are that they totally removed the front metal trim peace that has the slot for the shoulder belt and the metal trim bezel from the back that guides the belt through the seat.

You will know more when you get the covers off.

I would plan on replacing everything from the frame out; seat foams, correct seat covers, new trim pieces for the shoulder belt. Take your time, follow the instructions provided and it can be a do it yourself project. There are also videos out there on how to do them. I even managed to do mine

While you are at it (and if you and the wife agree), you might consider removing that same cloth that covers the parking brake console and restore it to its original condition. If it is wrecked, replacements (used ones) are available and they can be dyed to match your interior. It will make the interior look a lot better. Post pics when you tackle the project.

lol 100%. PO took such nice care of her but the seats and broke console are a head scratcher?

Looks great. Guess you decided against the shoulder belts.

We ended up finding used seats. Ended up being significantly cheaper when we priced out new foam, covers, hardware, ect.

A real improvement! Seats look comfortable and nice work on the parking brake console. Enjoy the ride!

Huge improvement! BTW - your old seats appear to be 1970 style. Recovered mine last year...

Not sure what you did with your old seats but I'm sure you could sell them.
