It’s a shitty job for sure, especially with factory AC. A lift is your friend. Good luck. Make sure to put a good quality AC Delco pump on there if you can.

GOOD TIP! I never thought about this. I just always fought it for hours trying to get the bolts started against the compressed pump..
Getting the rear (left) bolt out/in is tough, had to use a long extension and go in between the frame and the inner fender to get to it. I'd like to replace the rubber section of hose that goes between the pump and the steel fuel line but I can't get to it.
Replaced my pump a few weeks ago in my 70 ls5 with air. Not too bad getting it off. Getting it sucked with getting the bolts in, but got it done. Passenger wheel off, long extensions to go between inner fender and frame.
