Default Wheel customize? Need input!!

Gents,

I'm considering a very slight customization of my 1969 350/350 convertible. To be clear, on functioning cars I am very much for keeping it "original"...straying from the original build feels to me like defacing a work of art, (but to each his own) but I am considering having the rims colored LeMans blue and using the blackwall tire. I know many of the 1962 and even 1963 Vettes had this look, as did many of the late 60s / early 70s MOPAR (of which I am also a big fan).

Here's a mock-up from Photoshop...What do you guys think??

Honest feedback please!

Thanks much!

Can you Photoshop just the trim rings blue ?

You might like that and just buy a cheap set to put some colour on .

I can give it a shot...also was thinking about redline tires. Or I could just leave it alone and spend the money on replacing the seat material!! That's what is really needed.

Thanks!

Red line tires would look good, but not with the blue rims.....

Me too, the look seems a bit simplistic, almost what would be used on Govt vehicles in the day... You did say be candid. But you need to know mine is a bit over the top.

I think I am in agreement...I love the look on MOPAR of that era and on the early 60s Vettes, but this one is not an improvement.

Thank you all for the feedback.

I really want to like it. I purposefully go out of my way to like things....but I'm just not feeling it.

What I THINK would be cool...is redline tires and some wheels that are reminiscent of the old Hot Wheel rims.

Just my .02. But you do you. If it makes you happy, who cares what anyone else thinks.

I personally think the rims would look good in blue if you still had the stainless trim rings and center caps. Otherwise, it looks like something is missing

I'm guessing that you were very 'into' Hot Wheels when you were younger. It looks like a Hot Wheels car. If that's what you want, go for it....

I agree the body color rims on the 70's Mopars looked good. On your Vette, it just doesn't do it for me. Also back in the early 70's they made blue line tires, a darker blue than your car.

I would like it better if the wheels were 67's with the small center caps.
