Recently I bought a 72 Lt 1. I know it has been put back together and has a few different parts but for the life of me I can not find the length of upper hose I need. Standard part numbers will not fit. Has anyone else had this issue and if so where did you get your rubber hose?
Does the car have an incorrect or aftermarket intake manifold on it? You might wind up mocking up a hose with a wore coat hanger or something similar and trying to match it to something on the "hose rack" at your local parts store. Good luck.

In the past, I have become friends with the staff at the local parts stores and taken multiple off the shelf hose outside to my case to see which is closest to what I need. I also made the mistake of grabbing a hose off the rack and cutting it in half (to make 2 usable hoses) in the presence of a new store manager before I paid for it. As the manager was flipping out, the other employee came back inside and explained that I was ok to do that. From that point on, I always make sure every employee in a store knows what I am doing behind their counter.
Bones1982 I had similar fitment problems with my 1968.
I got an upper Radiator Hose for a 1977 350 corvette at autozone. Fit better than the part that was supposed to be for my 68. I think I trimmed one end about half an inch (~1/2") max. I have the old part number but it's no good anymore. Give it a shot. I'll get a picture for you to see.
here you go... take a peek. It also fit well with my stock radiator shroud before I converted to the mark viii fan.

I also had problems with the upper hose being too short. Since my car was a basket case I cut the hose in half and added a 2" extension tube to lengthen it.
