I'm sure that speakers capable of less than 100Watts (each) would be fine for the stock radio unit. I don't know what the speaker impedance is; but my guess is 4 ohms per speaker. You need to determine this for sure, before you make your choice. If you have one good speaker left, you could use your ohmmeter to measure the speaker coil resistance. That is not a true measure of "impedance", but it will give you a good idea of whether the original speakers had impedance of 4 ohms, 8 ohms, or 10 ohms. 4 ohm speakers are what is generally installed in today's vehicles. The '68-77 C3's used 10 ohm speakers; but there was an entirely different design radio installed starting in 1978.
