While this is a really rough car, there is a lot of interest on my part in what the car could be. What is neat is a silver big block convertible, and I would be so interested to drop the tank.
It would probably require a frame replacement and a lot of other work but a very early car, #3066.

On the other end is this really sharp green one, and its very close #3049.....its going to almost always be cheaper to buy this one!
Saw the first one, IMHO, sitting outside in the weather is a show stopper for me. I guess you would need a front clip, a rear clip, maybe a frame and the real show stopper for me; deal with lots of birdcage rust. Sad to see a 68 end up like this.
Thanks for the posting though

Not sure I could run fast enough away from that first one. As the old saying goes, best way to restore that one is to jack up the ash tray and roll a better '68 under it.
I have a 68 BB convert (#2101) that was 70% finished that cost me $25K. No rust, fresh paint, decent restored interior, rebuilt engine, good 4-speed trans, good differential. I added over $40K in parts (plus my labor) to get the car 95% finished, spending two years on it. So I spent $65K on a a car that I could now sell for $35-40K. The 1968 model has some annoying one-year-only features that will make your restoration more difficult. If you want to spend a fortune on your car and spend several years of difficult work on it, buy it. You could probably find one in much better condition for less money and be able to drive it sooner. anyway, my $0.02
Yeah that first one is worth nothing more than parts. Ill bet every piece of supporting metal in that body (front bumper/headlight area, birdcage, all body mounts) is gone. Sad to see a rare car aging so poorly.
