Come on man, the OP just stated fact. The car is a collectors edition but there were 6759 of them built so why do you want to dis his car? it is not like it is a defaced split window coupe or something. Whatever he likes in a car is his business. We don't normally lecture or shame people about their car on this forum.

If you don’t like the color tou don’t have to look at it. If I ask a question regarding a problem you most assuredly do not need to respond. . The ‘07’ certifies this vehicle as a CE.
I agree, stupid thing to say about someones pride and joy. "If you can't say something nice........"

WOW! While your vin# proves your C3 was born a Collectors Edition the casual observer wouldn't recognize it. If you like it, that's all that matters. However, coping an attitude won't encourage members to give you the advise you seek. Obviously we got off on the wrong foot. Lets kiss and make up. Enjoy your new ride.
I had the opportunity to purchase a C4 Red convertible 1990 with 25k miles for a price equivalent to what i paid for this vehicle. To me the C4, C5 and C6 while excellent vehicles are stylistically uninspiring, in a word bland. The C3 is in my perspective absolutely beautiful, it is a vehicle that when washing you can feel the contours of the body, the flow. While a 1973 is visually appealing, a 1980-1982 is my 2nd choice. The way the front fascia and the rear visually elongate the car is elegant from a visual perspective.
The fact that the exterior color is different from what was available is irrelevant to me. The lines of the car, the low miles and the lack of rust, especially in the Northeast, is critical.
I found that the response to the color not being within the Chevrolet colors surprising and honestly disappointing. However, it is what it is.
OP:
Some of the things you will find on this forum are:
Some members are very opinioned and will argue endlessly.
Some members are purists and spend thousands, upon thousands, making their car exactly as GM made it, and are very vocal about "it" being "right".
Some members are racers, some modify their cars a lot. These too sometimes go WAY beyond what you ask.
But, you will find most members will respoind to your questions and try to help. It's up to you to weed out the posts you don't like. But if you cop an attitude you will not get very much help.
At any rate, stick around for awhile.
I like purple cars. Please post some better photos of yours! It's your thread after all (or start a new one without the naysayers).
I'm glad Hobby Car Corvettes was able to take care of you with their rotating inventory. Their permanent collection showroom made me sad. So many nice cars, not for sale and not being driven, crammed in a single building. Some cool examples, though.
The only feature that really matters on a C3 CE is the rear hatch. Which reminds me to post this, again.
I enjoyed the Motor Week video. I have watched a number of times after finding this vehicle. The lines of C3 are classic and an 82 are timeless. John Davis and Pat Goss have aged a little though. Then again so have I.
