I too would like to go the B&M route because I have their torque convertor, shift kit, trans cooler, etc, but the stock shift lever.
What you did is eliminate the safety button. Is that an issue? I find the button annoying anyway and would love that T-handle.
I also see they come in several thread adaptors but it looks like you got it down to a science.

Cheap Amazon shift **** on the Hurst shifter in my 80.
This review of a 1977 C3 Restomod includes an explanation of an added line lock and the B&M ratcheting shifter. The line lock discussion starts at 5:30 or so.

This is my fav, is finally starting to yellow over time.
