I retired from General Motors as a plant Engineer over a factory n Monroe, La. Then started up 2 combined cycle plants and become operations manager. I am now a contract trainer throughout North America.
I had my first Corvette in 1969 when I got out of the service. It was a marina blue 427 4spd. convertible. Children changed my need for a second car so, I sold it and bought a truck. This January I purchased a 1975 Coupe (C3's have always been my favorite modern body style). The engine has been heavily modified and the chassis totally race hardened. The owner died and the car sat under some trees for a few years, with leaking sunroofs. All the electrical, vacuum A/C devices are rusted or corroded badly. I have gutted it the interior, installed Vintage air with an electrical fan on the condenser. Replaced the vacuum-operated headlight doors with electric motors. Installed an electric vacuum pump, since there is very low manifold pressure due to the Cam. So I am putting it back together and have read some helpful tips from you folks who have been there and done that.

Welcome to each of you.
Lots of info here ... some good, some not so ... one thing you can count on is there's rarely much consensus.
Thanks for the kind welcome, folks. There are so many opinions, ideas and methods to do the same types of repairs or modifications, so all of being agreeable to the any one solution isn't really a problem for me.
I have restored, hot-rodded and Modified more than a few Cars. I have always loved anything with a motor. My previous restoration was a 1970 Chevelle CS 454,
"body-off the frame". My lovely wife is also a car nut and we met at a car club 20 some years ago. She had a 57 Chevy Nomad, a 1953 Studebaker starlight coupe. I had a 57 Chevy pickup with a 79 Formula firebird front and rear suspension a 383 stroker that I had built from Lingenfelter spec'd components, a 55 Custom Sedan delivery and a 55 Chevy Suburban. So we were the right people for each other. But since we are both insane, we have to exercise some restraint. Here is a side view.
Welcome to the C3 Madness!
That's a great-looking car. Keep the photos/pics coming.
And yes....on this Forum there are 10 different ways to tighten the same bolt

And how many bolts are there on a C3?
