looking at this 68 custom corvette local here in town. Gentelman has Owned it since 69 he bought it 6 months old . that alone makes me want it..
Just looking for something cheap to play with to teach my son how to drive stick what better car than a 68 corvette he has been driving 1-1/2 years already was wondering what you guys think of it.
I know its not foreveryone purists will hate the head lights.
I plan on doing stuff like painted tops "he has the orig pair" change wheels to torque thrust type wheel or rally I know "been there done that" but they make this body style i think .Bubble tail lights to complete the custom look.
and possible side pipes and tidy up interior ailtte. I can sell the mirror tops and wheels to recoupe some money also.
The Engine has 800 miles and trans was gone threw also suspension was done, but the rear is way too high needs to come down a bit.
also he is very neg . asking 12k but will take like $8000 he said just spoke to him tonight.

I don't hate the headlights. I consider doing this myself. But they are not legal, as they are too close to the ground for primary headlights. Probably would not be an issue as cops are not really looking to bust people for things like this and probably unaware of the specs. Is the car it self worth that much? Talk to the condition of the vehicle frame bird cage suspension these are the things you have to worry about. If there isnt a rust isue $8K is a great deal. Especilly if its a driver. In this state they are getting strict with the safety inspections but I dont think they even know about the headlights. If they did you would get a reject sticker. Then Just drive on that sticker, noone gets pulled over for having one. I saw one at a car show that was 4 years old!!

Yes, this car will probably never be driven at night 99% during the day.
We don’t have state inspection just emissions here in The south west.

Is the engine original? The color? Just curious. Can’t see how custom the interior is. That GT has cap is worth a couple bucks.
i think with the custom body touches, Rally wheels wouldn’t really fit. I’d definitely change out what’s on there, but to an era appropriate wheel like TT or Cragars.
If he’s dropping the price that much, he might go further.

yeah I think torque thrust wheels or cragars will look great I even think the rallies won’t look too bad much better than what’s on there especially with side pipes. I don’t think they ever made that color gray paint.

Oh, it is grey now that I look closer. I thought it was black that was washed out in the sunlight in the picture.
That looks like a great car to start with. I also wouldn't change much. Just get out there and drive it. And I really like the headlights just as they are.
