So why y do I struggle with Motor Trend? I'm not an "app" guy. I pay for Dish satellite TV with the Motor Trend channel. The only way to watch Motor Trend is to record and then fast forward past all the crap.
Fair enough, but the app is just like Netflix, Disney+ etc etc. Either able to be added/installed to your TV or a TV streaming box.
I certainly would not be choosing to watch it on my phone or tablet over a TV.
In the longer term normal cable and satellite/dish networks may struggle to compete and way more content etc will be on streaming services.
MotorTrend has way more shows than can fit on its one TV channel so they are making it available to people through other means.
I have found shows I thought I would hate like Roadkill or HotRod Garage, Junkyard Gold etc but have ended up watching them all going back years.
I used to watch Car Fix on satellite (recorded as it was on strange times) and enjoyed it, have not watched the new ones but there is still heaps of shows with good detail work being done and not just the gloss over stuff.
Each to his own but we have now cancelled our satellite services and for less money have all the streaming ones available including MotorTrend.
Another show I used to enjoy was Wheeler Dealers, I liked it better when Edd China was on the show though. I watched a repeat the other day, there was no product advertising. They seem to 'do' a lot more than the other shows. Not sure how it is now that Edd's gone and Ant is there....
Didn't mean to sound angry but where we live in central MN our internet service is poor. I'd go to as far as to say **** poor. If you try to stream anything it cuts out after a minute or two. We tried the internet connection for our TV but it didn't work. Had the company I worked for IT guys come in and look into it and they just said I'm out of luck. Our internet supplier said they are going to make "improvements" but nothing so far. My phone hot spot is faster than our home VPN. I'm glad I'm retired and not working from home.
Hope you down under folks are doing alright. We have been pretty normal here thank goodness.

All good down here, the Government put in strict controls early before it got too bad and we have got it down to a handful of new cases each day and minimal deaths across the country.
Still cant get out in any more than 2 people but it seems to have worked so far. Once we start relaxing restrictions will be the real test.
As for streaming, yes you need a good internet connection. If I did not have that then Satellite is the best choice.
Just wanted to say that I worked on the ALL Electric Mustang 1400 Drag Car that was built by McCue/Lane electric aka Hancock&Lane Racing in North Bend,WA
that was just featured on a certain Mptor Trend show...............
The Mustang is tentatively going to be debuted to the Public at the NHRA Gatornationals ....June in Florida
I just went and streamed the latest episode of CarFix on MotorTrend.
No adds at all but they mentioned LMC truck as fair bit but they supplied a lot of the C10 parts they were using and they did a spot on NH protective coatings and some tire sealer. Imagine they sponsor the show Also :-)
Given i pay the US$50 per year for full online access I don’t get any normal adds on any shows, just jumps back into show each time an add break starts.

Found it in a show called “Hard Cell”.
Patrick McCue was interviewed and they showed a good car overview and It’s first ever test runs, before it was dialled in properly. Initial 8.8 second run with lots of wheel standing before they adjusted the power delivery properly.
