Where's Lou Santiago and Jared Zimmerman, did they get replaced as the hosts permanently? I say Boo to that. The two guys on there today didn't really seem like they wanted to be there.
After Car Fix, I watched In The Kitchen with Joanna Gaines. Bzzzzz-zzzzz. But no Chip to be seen. During a commercial break, the daughter filming asked, “ Where’s Dad(Chip)?” Joanna answered “In the garden.” Daughter remarked ” I didn’t see him in the garden.” Joanna replied “ You’ll need to look a little deeper.”
So.....Jared Zimmerman used to be listed in the credits for both Car Fix and All Girls Garage, was a Technical Producer or something like that. He now longer is listed for either show so he must not be affiliated with them any longer. Got the boot or moved on....gone....
Do those shows actually show/detail anything useful? They always felt like commercials for stuff I don't need want, or have been using forever. I guess I fail to see the appeal...You can find all of the Joy of painting on demand/on line. His painting techniques cross over to all kinds of things....plus he is not trying to sell you anything.
They didn’t resign Lou and Jared, who did all the tech on all of the shows that garbage production company did, left the show and the company. On to his own thing. They are having fun bashing motortrend on the carfix fan page on Facebook.
Christi lee is under contract with velocity (Now motortrend) not the production company. So as far as I know they moved her. I don’t watch garage squad but I assume it’s a place where she can not know much and feel comfortable.
I don't hate the new Car Fix but I sure prefer the version with Jared and Lou. Not a big fan of what Motortrend has done to Velocity. And I'm damn sure not a fan of watching a 30 minute show with only 5 minutes of content and 25 minutes of marketing. The magazine industry is nearly dead and credible TV is headed in the same direction. Extremely tired of fake reality shows. The TV cancer that was first made evident to me when they turned Orange County Choppers into a freaking soap opera needs to be eradicated. Maybe we should use the down time from the virus to tell Hollywood to kiss our behinds.
The TV car shows are just that TV car shows. Selling the sponsors stuff. How many car guys run the crap they promote.? Little about building cars. I struggle to understand why Motor Trend pushes all of the car guys away. You would think they (Motor Trend) would want us car guys glued to their productions. Also I hate all the hand and body stuff as they explain their fixes. Just make the presenters look stupid.
What do you mean by "I struggle to understand why Motor Trend pushes all of the car guys away"
From where I sit, and that's half way around the world, Motortrend on Demand is fantastic.
I have access to so many shows and all the back catalogues.
New episodes showing up every few days.
We never got MotorTrend on a cable or Satellite provider and you needed to pick up shows here and there on other channels but often a few seasons behind.
So what I have now is great, streamed shows and good quality video on the TV.
I am using an AndroidTV box to run the app.
Bottom line on all these issues is that programming no longer has any useful purpose....other than to try to sell s4i+. It used to be that some knowledge or understanding was imparted to the viewers. Not so much, anymore. Same with regular TV programming. Today's 'moral to the story'? .... buy, buy, buy.
So why y do I struggle with Motor Trend? I'm not an "app" guy. I pay for Dish satellite TV with the Motor Trend channel. The only way to watch Motor Trend is to record and then fast forward past all the crap.
