Default Original Flag Badges

Hi all. Cleaning up a 77 C3, instead of buying new flag badges my wife is taking on repainting the originals. the one on the gas cap is no worries because it bolts back on. The other three I used adhesive remover to get them off. Of course this renders the old sticky backing done. Any thoughts on what would be best used to re-attach these as good as original backing that they had?.

Yes, 3M makes an excellent trim/emblem adhesive tape. Usually available at any parts store. Gray tape with red backing. Looks like this:

Without a doubt, 'Clear Gorilla [emblem] Tape' is a winner for doing this. I have used the 3M stuff and it works just fine. BUT, you have to cut out the open areas of the emblem because the 3M stuff is dark gray. The Gorilla tape (clear) is very transparent, so you can just put it across the entire emblem and install it. Yes, the sticky side is showing on the outer side in those openings and I was concerned that dirt could stick to that portion of the tape and begin to look dingy. But, in a matter of days (maybe hours?) the sticky stuff that is open to the air disappears, so there is no problem...unless you drive through dirty environment in the first day or two.

Worked for me!
