Compared to a new car with anti lock brakes, the brakes on my '72 are not nearly as effective.

My 6t8 has manuel brakes, the last time that I was at Road America I passed a C6. I caught up to him coming into the corners only to have him outpace me on the straights and it was because my 6t8 could slow down faster than the C6. Which I believe had anti lock brakes. New cars have a better tire/wheel combo than a stock C3 with 15" and balloon tires, but I'll take old style brakes over anti-lock any day, but I'll give you that anti-lock are better in crappy road situations. T

Doc...Many here have given good advice.
Especially LOOKING at the tires for micro cracks and deterioration. Many don't look at the back of the tire EITHER. If the car had leaking calipers at one point...streaks will show up on the rear of the tires.
The CE has 10 year old tires on it and they are in SUPERB condition...so, I'm not worrying much...This IS in the parts rotation however.
I applaud all who want to keep you safe....My comment to this thread is 'HAS ANYBODY SEEN FIRST HAND HOW MUCH DAMAGE A EXPLODING/ DELAMINATING TIRE CAN CAUSE TO A CORVETTE? (I have!)
THE DAMAGE IS PRODIGIOUS! CAN BE $20,000 WORTH OF DAMAGE. So driving slow and puttering around is prudent...but at 55 MPH....someone post up the 'damage level'.

3. Ask them politely to 'price match it'.

1. For 25 years you have been the 'go-to' for tires....no others!
2. You are a Scottsdale AZ. Company....If I have to throw a tire through your front window I CAN! LOL. (never happened!)
3. I have 'rubbered up' Over 70 cars with you. All types!
4. You always go the extra mile for your customer.
5. Your prices are good and like I said, you will not let a customer walk away.
6. NEVER has an issue with quality.
7. Discount tires on all the Corvettes.
8. If I have a problem...never a question of fixing re-balancing etc....just seamless.
