Default Roll up window clip removal

Not sure if it’s just me but what a pain in the but. Even with the correct tool it was impossible. Ended up cutting the trim ring to get at the clip.
My solution was to drill and tap the window crank stud. 6-32 Drilled and countersunk the new handle. Door lock clip was easy.

theres a trick to do it with dental floss that pulls that clip easily. Putting it back is a hassle though

I've never had a problem removing the clip, but why is it a hassle putting the clip back on?

The inside panel of the door should be secured along the bottom with some pins and probably just hangs on the door frame where the window is.. if that makes sense... So if you use a flat screw driver you should be able to pop the pins out probably a stem in the center of the round plate (works like a dry wall anchor) so if you get the center piece to come out some the outer sleve should pop out too then the inner door part can be Sarkari Result Pnr Status 192.168.1.1 pulled away and lifted off the door frame.

My dad was a paint and body man from the 40's until he retired in 1980. He had the clip removal tool but I have a sewing needle from my telephone office cable sewing days that works great for removing the clip. Being OCD, I always had to have my window crank ***** in the same position on both doors, usually around the one o'clock to two o'clock position when rolled up on drivers side, then match the passenger side. This started in 1966.
So I would remove the handles, put the clip back on and snap the handles back on the stem in the position that would satisfy my craziness.

Bend a short 90 on a piece of stiff wire and you can hook the bottom of the U clip and pull it off. I kept some of the metal inserts from wiper blades that are 1/32"+ wide stainless steel, which works well for this.

Thanks for all the ideas. Passenger side will be easier now. PO didn’t use a stock clip. 😖

I used the same method as Sayfoo did. I took a jewelers screwdriver, and bent the tip 90 degrees. Just enough length to slide it under the window crank, and then catch the end of the clip, and I can pull it out. The thinness of the jewelers screwdriver gave me a lot of room to maneuver for this.

Yes, I can't see how it would be hard to reinstall. I usually put the clip on the window crank and maybe a bit of lube and just push the crank on?
