Get your minds outta the gutter. Front end car bras is what I'm talking about. I find them distracting. And who you saving the paint for? The next owner?
Many people install them and never take them off. I've seen to many cars with paint damage from them. I wouldn't consider buying a car with one unless I could remove it and thoroughly inspect the paint.
The answer is a BIG NO!
These are the following BAD THINGS that happen when you put a Bra on the car.
1. They flap
2. They cannot be left on wet.
3. They cannot be allowed to freeze.
4. They are UGLY! (EVEN if you have a black car!)
5. They are impossible to clean properly (inside is what counts...see next)
and the worst is;
#6 They are a magnet for dirt debris, sand etc. When you have that UNDER THE the Bra, it destroys the paint in short order....sandpapers the paint right off the car!
So WHY are you putting it on the car in the first place....Protection....doesn't cut it!
The Clear protectors are much more efficacious, yet at the line where the clear protector ends, you get that 'sand-blast effect' which is pretty noticable.
I bought one years and years ago......still in the drawer growing mold!
Someone said, a bra is saving the front paint for the next owner.
My brother-in-law had a 1966 Ford Galaxy, white, green interior. Well, clear interior. He had those hard, crinkle, clear, seat covers on the front bench seat & rear. He was saving the upholstery. I don't think the junkyard crusher cared about the "like-new" seats decades later..

It's not just paint wear. The reinforcements they all have along the top rear edge of the bra will vibrate and wear grooves in the fiberglass. I'd rather not say how I know.
Go Bra-less!! If you want to keep road rash off the front, get some Clear-tastic film and put a clear protective layer over the paint. You can remove it without paint damage, if you want.
Looks a lot better than having one of those bra-things on the front. And it won't flap around or rub paint off the car at speed.

Yeah not a good thing. A long time ago I had one on a trans am. Every time I had a flat, which was quite often, and I had to jack the rubber nose up the paint would crack away. So I used a bra to cover the ugly bumper. I question which did more damage the jack or the bra.
Yeah not a good thing.

You guys are hilarious, too much front end sag....lmao.
I'll go against the grain here.
I purchased one off a member here for a specific reason. I have mine on the car in the garage because the family members don't watch what they are doing when passing the car.
I have had things fall on the front of my car and the bra has kept the paint from getting damaged. And my paint sucks btw, so it's more of a piece of mind every time someone goes out to the garage.
My wife hates it. Says it makes the car look old.
I took it off last fall and put the cover on the car. This winter I accidentely bumped my table saw and it fell over on to the front and gouged the front fibreglass bumper. I freaked, nobody came near me for a day. And to top it all off, If I had of left it on, there would be no damage. That pissed me off even more.
I just removed the bra that my car came with after reading this thread. The paint under it looks like the south end of a north bound mule, but so does the rest of the paint, so why not? I really don’t want to get into fiberglass repairs on top of all the other projects I have on this car!
