FYI
I have been seeing some long delays in shipping, using both UPS & Fedex. I think a lot depends on where you are located but "normal" times are gone. I shipped a set of TA's to VA from CT, typically would be 2 days, 9 days later they showed up. I was expecting a couple of boxes in from MA to CT, typically 1 day, going on 3 now. I have been told there are not enough employees to cover routes or unload trucks in a timely manner.
Prices have continued to climb as well even with the lowest gas prices in 50 years. A steering box shipped coast to coast used to cost about $25 now it's closer to $50, a differential shipment jumped from $100-$115 to about $200 one way coast to coast.
Just something to thing about the next time you order or ship a part.
Ive had parts delayed as well, with both fedex and ups. The tracking shows its on the "truck out for delivery". But nothing shows up, next day its back "on the truck for delivery",
Or: "No attempt made, delivery scheduled for next business day", usually 2 day delay from estimated arrival.
I have a pair of tires that have been on a truck for 3 days, since 5/12. now says maybe arriving tomorrow 5/15
I had an expansion tank marked as delivered, but no one came to my door. It arrived next day.
Sign of the times I guess. I have heard that the shipping business has tripled in number of packages. I don’t know many businesses that can have their orders triple almost overnight and supply all the demand. Great problem to have but the ramp up time takes time. Sucks for us waiting for parts though. We have time to work on things but no parts.
Indeed these are trying times. With the massive increase in shipping now for food and all products and so many people at home now ordered off of Amazon, eBay, and all other sites, it is taking a toll on delivery times and drivers. I have spoken to my UPS and my FedEx drives now, my postman too, and all of them are saying that the increase in shipments is staining the whole system. UPS and FedEx are looking for warehouse workers and drivers because they need more hands on deck. Until we open up the local stores and allow people to get back out and purchase from brick and mortar stores I am afraid these delays, some more substantial than others, will continue. Now consider as well the fact that many manufacturing sites are not operating at the moment and, well, it just gets worse.
The new express delivery isn't so express any longer; and it may be a very long time before it can recover.
They spoiled us in the past, now we don't feel so spoiled.
Stay safe and stay healthy.

Amazon stated yesterday they are prioritizing medical supplies and food and everything else will be delayed......Buying from Summit used to be 2 days from Hitting pay to seeing at my door, now it is 6 to 7 days at least....I bought A McLeod clutch line from Summit on a Friday, they wouldn’t answer their pHone the next Wednesday and the website said there was an issue with my order and to call. I called and the message said to use the web page.........bad service, but they did state on their webpage that they are screwed with the virus......
I called McLeod directly, they put they put it in a First Class bag and sent it to me, I got it 3 days later....I think some of it’s customer service and what shipper you use. The post office doesn’t seem to be effected the way UPS is

I'm in western Colorado about halfway between Denver and SLC. I haven't noticed much of a slow down in parcel deliveries. A few Priority Mail boxes I've sent back east are a day or so slower. While regular no lead gas has really dropped, I don't see a huge drop in diesel prices. Most of the local truck stops show diesel at least $1.00 more per gallon than no-lead. We know that most people are driving way less than before COVID19, while there seem to be a lot more 18 wheelers on the road. Supply and demand.
took me 2 weeks to get coil springs, should have been 5 days. I caught the fedex driver when he dropped it off. he said the Pittsburgh FEDEX warehouse has so many packages waiting to be delivered they literally don't have any where to put them and no where near enough trucks to deliver them. he said tractor trailers show up to unload and they just unhitch the trailer and leave it outside because there is nowhere to put anything
I had a package finally get to Chicago and it swirled the bowl for 2 weeks before showing up in Wichita. I have another package in Chicago now, I'm guessing it will be 2 weeks before it makes it here. Oh well, gotta hope everyone is at least doing the best they can.
Hah,I've had face masks ord from Amazon since Apr-1st,still not here! Along with my Mich.drivers lic renewal, boat & 4 car tags, that have been ord/pd for since March. Don't ord lawn mower parts, better to hire it out..................Hdal
hdal, The DMV of any state always catches a lot of Hell, deservedly so. I guess they have a good excuse right now. Lucky for me, all my renewals were done before the COVID hit the fan. Our local DMV was closed during the shut down and just reopened last week. They say they would have served 10s of thousands of people during those weeks. Right now there is a line into the parking lot, spaced 6' apart, waiting to get in. I would hate to need to transfer a title right now!
