Having a heck of a time pin-pointing my creaky drivers door hinge creak.
It was quiet until I hit it with some silicone spray.
Now it creaks at the point of almost full open, and in both directions.
I've tried dabbing Lubriplate grease everywhere I can reach, but still get the same creak.
It appears to be coming from a point where the hinge plate rubs on the vertical spring "wire" that acts as a door check link or detent.
Any tips on how to get the right lube up in there to the right spots?
Thanks,
The bottom end of the "S-shaped" detent spring is apt to be where the noise is coming from. A squirt of white lube using the long nozzle should take care of it.

I was just going to suggest the white lube, its white lithium grease. They sell it in spray cans now a days. Back in the early 80s it came in a lipstick style tube. We used it on the hinges and the door strikers because it didnt stain clothes and generally stayed where you put it

I used that stuff on my garage door spring. Worked like a charm and lasted years before I sold the house.
