the threaded rods seem to be less than 7.5 inches, definitely too short, and there's plenty of room for a longer bolt without worrying about it dragging on the ground or piercing the tire. what's a good source of these things? the ones on here already are only threaded at the ends and smooth in the middle, very nice.
wider shot of the suspension
i pushed the jack up such that the front block touches and measured the rear area, a 4" block height would be perfect, and since i already have 3" blocks, i hopped on amazon and found some low profile 1" blocks to use, $35 and should be here Saturday
once the car is in the air, changing out those rear bolts should be easy, and it will allow me to properly set up the steeroids system since it's currently borked

I HIGHLY recommend NOT to stack blocks..they say you can..but if you are not lined up enough it will spit out stacked blocks...i was lucky the frame of the quick jack caught it..it was like slow motion when the blocks went and didnt happen til like half hour later..did it fall off no..but im glad ..my frame on my 79 is not very flat where the blocks go to start with..let alone amazon unknown block..those blocks flex..

normally i'd agree, but considering it'll be a 1" block on top of a 3" block, the fulcrum force necessary to cause them to split-separate is incredible.
if it was two 2" blocks, that would be a bigger danger
also if you stack the blocks on their side, that's a big risk
QJ themselves are mostly fine with stacking assuming you do it right
Ok..have at it..im not sure about others but lining up that quickjack parallel is not quick...and would bet without measuring tape most don’t ...close enough...
yes i know they said it was ok to do it..
i disagree..
you should see the blocks on a pinch weld..it penetrates ..and like i said the vette frame rail has a crown in it..not perfectly flat...
add to that the ‘unkown durometer’ of what your buying..i dont see where qj sell a 4..too bad
and you are raising it unevenly once wheels off ground
just my experience..i thought i was careful ...
nice car and upgrades!

The bolts are either going to be easy or hard to get.
10" bolts were used on the c4 vettes so some are using those from the usual suppliers
You should be able to source them from a heavy equipment supplier as well (some place that services transport trucks type of thing)
Or of course fastenal... if they'll sell you two without an account
Make sure they are grade 8 bolts
Drilled for cotter pin if at all possible (you really don't want these coming off)
Castle or nyloc nut

seems like the best course is to get a c4 bolt set, install them and see how much lower the car sits, then start threading the bottom nut tighter until i get the desired ride height with the minimum bolt length, then cut the bolt to that length
will that magical length end up being 9" of bolt? 8 inches? dunno
Yeah, not sure why they changed exactly, I've got a business acct so I order that way. Guess too many guys walking in off the street wanting to buy two 10" bolts

was able to get the car in the air successfully by using the 1" blocks on top of the 3" blocks, the car is tiling forward in the air but no more than it was on the ground, and pressure on all the blocks looks roughly even.
i even pushed on the car in the air and its extremely stable
