the only real flaw in the paint is on the hood in the hood over the carburetor. Thought about a center hood vinyl decal to cover the "bad spot" instead of a repaint. Where would one start to look to find like a hood bulge only vinyl decal to cover it up?
Look for places in your area that do car wraps. May have to search for "vehicle" wraps. I'm sure one of them could create and install a custom graphic vinyl wrap for you. Or just a plain wrap of a contrasting color. Around here, some of the window tint places also do vinyl wraps.
You can contact Phoenix Graphix. They will make custom graphic and what it sounds like you want is the hood bump decal that's on the 82 collector edition but in a solid color.

i am waiting on paint job..cut your own, they gave me a piece for like 30 bucks..
they use the usa 3m good stuff as they apply it..covered flames AND a portrait!
soapy water easy to locate use a paper template first cut what you need..float in place..easy..my painted flames still come through as it lays very flat
Just an FYI - would note depending on the wrap and how bad the paint flaws are you may see some through the wrap. For example a chip or might show as a depression.
