From past experience of owning a 20' Cuddy Cabin with a SBC, Inboard / Outboard Mercruiser, here is the best & easiest thing to do:
Unload boat from trailer into water.
Tie-off at dock.
Do Not Move Boat.
Stand on dock with a five gallon bucket.
Bucket should contain several 20 dollar bills.
Pour contents into boat.

Okay that is just wicked. I am telling my brother he has got to do something like that on his Baja SST Outlaw.
I always heard that the 2 happiest days for a boat owner are the day he bought it and the day he sold it. That certainly applies to my boating adventure.
About the cost of boat ownership, I certainly agree about cost. In “complete contrast” to boat ownership, I am finding parts for my Corvette to be very cheap, very easy to find a reputable service center, the Corvette is virtually trouble free, and it is very easy to access the engine space!!!
(Oh yea, and if it looks like rain in the forecast, I leave it at home too.)
Some of my boat owner friends say "Its a hole in the water you pour money into."
and a vette is not a hole in the driveway for the same purpose? the advantage of a boat over a vette. you hit full throttle. you don't have to lift up within 7 seconds or every cop in town will also hit full throttle. disadvantage of a boat. you spend so much time at high throttle that you need to rebuild the top end every 300 hours. and then there is the 3mpg is very good mileage thing.
