Default Hazard button jam, any fix?

I know the photo has nothing to do with my question but I’m proud
So, last year I worked on the steering column and replaced the directional signal arm and all the horn parts. Everything worked fine for the last year, at least until I pressed the four-ways button in, just testing for the hell of it and “CLICK” they came on ok but now I can’t get the damn button back out.
i really don’t want to tear it all down again so has this happened to other C3’s ? Anybody got any idea on popping the button back out?
I did remove the outer ring, screw and spring but see no reason for it to be hung up.
BTW, I did pull the can so the flashers don’t keep flashing, and the directional arm does swing ok ........

I cant think of anything down in there, youve got a feew options if you are dead set against pulling the wheel again. Since its already broken, You can put the **** on it and pull on it really hard an dsee if it pops out, or remove the hazard flasher can and see if your turn signals still work . Number threee is pull the wheel and fix it right. good luck

Grab it firmly with your hand and pull straight out . It may take a very firm pull to get it off that detent. If it just won't pull out, follow above advice.

I think it’s only fair to mention a follow up to this predicament.
Before tearing down the steering column I tried the suggestions and pulled pretty hard. But leery of stripping the mounting screw out. One thing I never realized was Both the front Directionals came on with the brake lights when I stopped. Kind of embarrassing.
i had removed the hazard flasher but left the turn flasher in and the turns did work ok as turn signals.
in the meantime I noticed my horn did not always beep even though I put all new parts in. So I started with that. Of course, that’s a separate issue I suppose. But, I found adding one more horn ring spacer worked perfect, now the horn works with a nice tap.
so while I had the horn ring off , I went back and forth with the turn signal arm while pulling on the hazard button and CLICK it came out.
I have no idea why or if one thing had anything to do with the other.
but for the meantime I put the hazard flasher back in and if I need them I’ll use them. If not, no touch until I’m ready to take the column apart if they stick in again.
thanks all.
now on to the next issue. 😝
