I agree with Jeff. From the color of the trim etc. it appears to be a 79

climb under and shine a flashlight up just behind the side marker lights. you will see the seam where the bumper bolts to the body. filling the gaps at front and rear bumpers is fairly common. not a big issue either way. frame, birdcage. everything else is fairly easily removable. it is a 78-up with that back window. looks like pretty good shape. NOW, whattdya mean history? the guy that built it has left the building. his grandkids probably don't know squat about the car. what bothers me is you don't know the model year. what does the title say? oh. nobody has the title? they need to come up with some paperwork that your DMV will accept. or walk away. also being sold by people who know nothing about corvettes except what they see on car auctions on TV. they may think this is a 15 to 25k car. this thread. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...orvette-6.html roll down to post 107. read. then pull the kick panels and check the #2 body mounts. take a pic and post it.

Thanks for the help so far
its from a deceased estate and about to go on auction, paper work is delayed so waiting on the exact model, the car apparently belonged to a collector, imported from America to South Africa

More pics would help us identify further. The rear spoiler is a pace car type that is glassed in to the rear, so it’s a custom. You can see they extended the body color to the wheel slots and forward door jambs, so they whole car was probably painted when the rear body work was done. Not sure about what I can see of the hood but it looks like it’s been changed; at a minimum I’d bet there’s modifications up front too.

Its likely a ‘79 with the ‘79+ seats with the sheepskin tied onto them. The door panel is customized as well.

Don’t pay collector money for this car.

The hood is OK but there’s an odd custom molding-in to the front valance area.

Are the add on little lights to the nose cap a Euro requirement? The lower part of the cap is very warped.

What about the engine?
