Guys,
Haven't posted in awhile put having a problem I hope you can help me with. I had to replace my heater core. No big deal, but when I started putting things back together I ran into a couple weird issues. First, when the heat/ac ctrl on the console is in cold position the vacuum water valve is not engaged. See photo.
Secondly, the heater ctrl on the consloe will not move to the end of the controller. See photo.
Hoping for some help.
If the lever still won't operate the switch then dig around in the area looking for a little extension sleeve that fits over the button. If it's shot (like mine was) I was able to make an extension by drilling the lead out of a fat kindergarten pencil, whittling down the body a bit and epoxying it to the button.
Yup..the temperature should touch the red hot but the cold should not touch the left blue side.
there should be about 3/8 inch from left..so it pushes that plunger fully to send vacuum to shut off valve..
also that heater core job was not so easy imo..you also need to be careful of cable routing for smooth operation
if it worked before you tore into it ..the cable may not be routed correctly
