After checking my perfect looking BFG’s and finding they are 12 years old I get to buy some new tires for my ‘68 coupe. What are the thoughts on redlines on rally’s with safari yellow? Some pics maybe? Also recommended brand if I go that route. Thanks
I have run just about every combination of tires/wheels on C3's over the years and I have to tell you, I never got more compliments than when I ran red lines. They really pop on any C3 and work well with most colors. They are also real sharp with the PO2 caps.
I say if you haven't run them before, give them a try. I think you'll be very happy with the change in looks.
Cheers, Greg
Are you guys talking about the Firestone Wide Oval Radial Redline FR70-15's from Coker Tire? Same price as the raised white letter version, but over double the cost of the Radial T/A's. At least on Coker's web site.

I prefer the redline look but the price is scary. So I cheated and went with the Rimsavers. Definitely not as cool but get the look. Its for a baller on a budget...

I don't think the redlines look as good as RWL tires on yellow/gold colored cars. RWL tires with rally wheels, or thin whitewall tires with P02's would look best, IMO.
I agree about the color combo of red and yellow may not be ideal. But if you like it go for it and that pic-above looks great,so. Here are my diamondback BF Goodrich manufactured redlines. So far so good. I went with them after a major issue with browning of RWL.
I also have a 72 that has rally wheel and RWL so like the contras of the two different setups. Ike

Ive had two set of goldlines on my 66 but probably will go with raised white letters like I have on my C3's. I don't think the redlines/goldlines are worth the money and I'm starting to like the looks of RWL better.

I like that look better than the redlines where did you get them?
I suppose after buying tires for the C7 I did not pay much attention to the cost of the redlines... Seemed like a bargain … Maybe should have looked closer.

depends on the rims and other trim
i like RWL in most cases but RL look good on stock rims but RWL look good on rally’s
Thanks for all of the replies once again. I guess redlines it is. The car is all original in appearance except for an electronic ignition on the L36. RWL weren’t available until 1969 from what I understand so that pushed me over the edge of the redline cliff. Worst case if I don’t like them I can swap them out or flip them around and have some very expensive black walls! Thanks again and I’ll do before and after pics when they are installed and add to the thread.
I'd definitely steer clear of cokers. Had two sets, both outrageously expensive and both sets wore out WAY too quickly. I think they are only good for static display or museum cars.
