Title says it all. Just got the AC blowing cold and all that working. Went out to start it yesterday and the tach wouldn’t work. Spun the cable up with a drill and it worked. Stuck a match stick into the tach and it no spinny. Well crud. I got to looking at the tach and I noticed it had the 90 degree adapting it which I had forgotten about installing. Hope it went south. So later today -after it cools off- I will remove it and see if it is that or the drive gear. Either way I’d rather remove the distributor than crawl under the dash!
That right angle drive has a pin that makes the transition from the drive gear to the right angle. Did you loose it when you took it apart? I also agree, don't know why you have the right angle on the distributor. If you get the distributor body in the correct position you don't need it.
Unk
it’s got so hot I leaving it to fall. I’m Thinking on getting a tach drive HEI and swap in. Anyway I got time to think on it. Thankfully I can remove it and work on it on the bench. I developed some back issues I’m dealing with as well. Getting old really sucks.

Know the feeling. Into simplification and reliability now. Converted to tach drive HEI and haven’t looked back
