Shifter Boot

Hello to all. My question is about the shifter boot on a late 69 4 spd. Should the boot be a leather or rubber boot? Thanks in advance for all replies.

Originals were rubber. Lots of folks like the aftermarket leather. Your choice.

Sorry to repeat, but all 1969 leather shifter covers are not stock and are all aftermarket?

Seems to depend on when in 1969 the car was built,
I have a November 69 build which has an inner rubber boot and and an outer leather one.
I have owned the car since February 1973 so nobody added the leather boot.
Had a discussion on the forum where an owner of early 69 build has only a rubber boot.
