Default Over Heating C3

I have a 76 C3 with a 350 V8 in it. I live in Phoenix which is not the ideal place for a hot car so I put an aftermarket AC system in it and it works very well. However, the car has a tendency to overheat. So I put a new aluminum radiator in it and new hoses, along with dual electric fans and a controller module for that. But it's still running hot. Is there anything else I can do to make it run cooler? I was thinking heat wrapping the headers and maybe a new hood to release some of the built-up heat. Is there anything else I can do?

Overheat at idle? highway speed? normal driving?

Irregardless the C3 design requires excellent seals around the radiator and sealing to ensure that the functional side vents ARE functional!

Where are you measuring your temperature, and have you confirmed with an IR thermometer?

Without pictures, I'd suggest checking the timing first. Also, with headers, your engine may now be running lean.

If you do cut holes in your hood, do what a C7 does, or what @Bee Jay did with a C7 hood vent. Almost anything else will just make your heat problem worse.

But please start with some pictures!

Welcome Andre' I'm in PHX too. I'm going to lurk for a while. I've written about this at least three times.

How do you define "overheating"? Is it boiling over or is the gauge reading high? There are so many causes, including inoperative vacuum advance, timing, lean fuel condition, etc.

Tell us about the Electric Fans setup. Are they "pushers" or "pullers"?
At what temp does the sensor activate the fan?
Are you still using the mechanical clutch fan?
