I have a 76 C3 with a 350 V8 in it. I live in Phoenix which is not the ideal place for a hot car so I put an aftermarket AC system in it and it works very well. However, the car has a tendency to overheat. So I put a new aluminum radiator in it and new hoses, along with dual electric fans and a controller module for that. But it's still running hot. Is there anything else I can do to make it run cooler? I was thinking heat wrapping the headers and maybe a new hood to release some of the built-up heat. Is there anything else I can do?
How do you define "overheating"? Is it boiling over or is the gauge reading high? There are so many causes, including inoperative vacuum advance, timing, lean fuel condition, etc.
Tell us about the Electric Fans setup. Are they "pushers" or "pullers"?
At what temp does the sensor activate the fan?
Are you still using the mechanical clutch fan?
