Default POR-15 interior body - quantity required?

I am planning to spray the interior body of my 1979 with Second Skin Spectrum™ Spray On Deadener and they recommend POR-15 as a base/primer coat.

For those who have painted the interior of their C3 with POR-15, how much (quantity - quarts/gallon) do I need to buy? It's obviously cheaper to buy 1 gallon than 4 quarts, but no point in buying more than I need either.

edit: Is there a good alternative to POR-15 that isn't so expensive?

The POR is 'overkill', in my opinion. You could just prime the floor with Dupli-Color Self Etching Primer (olive-drab color on cap) after cleaning the surface decently. POR is expensive, stinky and more difficult to apply, and is meant for rusty surfaces (no loose rust!). Wire brushed interior floor surfaces will do fine with the self-etching primer, instead. But, that choice is up to you.

The product hes asking about isnt the paint we typically know.
Dont know the answer OP sure someone has to know. Used something similar on my Abody (same as Bmw and mb use) it does help with some high pitch/frequency noises.

When I sprayed a mid ‘70s ‘vette pretty liberally all it took was a quart can of POR -15, but it is as 7T1 says “overkill.”

I didn't even use a whole quart on an 80 Z/28. I brushed it on using one of those foam brushes. Stuff will fill in tiny pin holes that you can only see by shining a light underneath. Then i put dynamat over that.

Don't buy it by the gallon. It will harden on you in no time.

don't open the lid on the por15 can. punch two small holes in it to pour and vent. use a separate container to work from. then when done put a piece of plastic tape over the holes. for some reason storing in the freezer seems to slow down hardening.

I ended up using Rustoleum oil based flat black. ~$9/quart at Lowe’s.

It took about a 1.5 quarts to do the entire interior, but I put it on rather thick. It looks much better, is strong and should give a good base for the second skin spray to bond with.

You could look into the truck bed liner/rubber coatings and not deal with 2 different materials.
