Default Flares, all four corners.

I,ve got a 72 vert that I would like to add flares to. The end goal is a street and track LS powered, TKO 600 vette that is relatively easy to live with. Anyway ,to the point. I am in the Central Valley of Calli and for the life of me I cannot find an honest body guy to do all four quarters, without paint, car will be wrapped. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks . Steve.

My 72 was a coupe but I flared it and I wrapped it. You can do nearly anything you want if you have a good wrap shop available. Base paint was required for the wrap to adhere properly but it came out pretty nice. Mine was a black car, solid white wrap with red wrap over the white. After it was done I would have started with a white car versus the black, but live and learn. Have fun with it, you are only limited by your imagination.

Bit of a drive but Custom Image in Watertown SD makes his own flares and does beautiful work. Take a look at Brent319 vette as a stunning example.

Its a long wait! Ask me how I know I think someone could make a decent living setting up shop on West coast and installing at same price as the companies that make the flare fenders and quarters!

At the risk of hijacking the thread, David, did you paint the A pillar trim, door handles, etc and remove the t top trim pieces? I have been giving serious thought to going that direction and was curious about the approach that you took.

Thanks
Bryan

Bryan, the 72 road race replica trim was all done in matte black powder coating. Door trim, light trim, t-top trim, gas door, if it was chromed metal or stainless then it got the matte black treatment. A-pillar trim was also matte black. Front headlight housing covers and trim were also matte black.
I test painted some trim but it did not bond well so I tried the powder coating in a couple of different gloss levels and settled on the matte black. Satin black was nice too. Both would work.
I hope this information was helpful.
David

PS: I had my side pipes ceramic coated black and my side pipe covers were powder coated black to give them that blacked out appearance as well. Needless to say the powder coating folks loved me. I spent a few dollars with them trying to get a mean look. I think it worked. The car, when black, also had a nice look and should I ever do it again I would stick with the black I think.
