Build date information
I have found my new ride, 81 white coupe with red interior. From original owner with 19,500 miles and is in very good condition. Question is its a St Louis build car with the vin number with low 10,000, anyway to find out exactly when it was produced?

If it was built in St.Louis the 11th digit on the VIN will be a S.

Time Built code for St. Louis cars is in the upper right corner of the trim tag. Alpha character is the code for month (probably D for you); numeric characters are day of month. The date is the day the car reached the station on the assembly line where the tag was attached. I agree with SEVNT6; November, 1980.
