Default OEM parts

Recently had my uncle's 76 stingray handed down to me to refurb. Spent most of my life in this car to include several proms so I take pride in being able to bring it back to life. It needs a complete gut of the interior, I have seen many sites selling all the components I need to restore, just wondering which ones I should stay away from due to non functioning OEM fit or cost. Thanks in advance, looking forward to this forum..

Welcome aboard brother (and thanks for your service)
Congrats on your new Vette.
You know there's no chance we're going to let you get away without posting pics of your new baby!
Cheers, Greg

there really is only one or two manufacture for all the parts. so find a good resto house that has good customer service and decent shipping rates. Paragon is a good one

A lot of resto parts are crap. Body/interior parts don't fit right and the mechanical ones don't work right or last long.
It's a continual battle.
Many times it is better to refurbish a old part rather than burying a new repop.

I agree on finding original parts. You can use vinyl dye spray to make them all the same color. First you need to get some vendor manuals along with the AIM for a 1976. Then start watching eBay, as there are always people selling various parts. Be an educated consumer as the prices and quality of parts vary greatly. Oh yes, ask questions, the folks on the Forum are terrific and will answer your questions day and night. Welcome aboard.
