II am in the process of taking all of the interior panels off the car. Did some minor repair and I am going to repaint them all. Most of them were relatively easy to get off. However I am stumped. I cant figure out hoe to take off the panel the goes down the center of the T- Top. There are 4 screws, 2 on each end, but the panel doesn't budge. Any idea on how this part comes off? Thanks in advance
Be very careful when you pull that center piece off the roof interior. It has 3 or 4 serrated push pins affixed to the inside surface. These get 'popped' into some slots in the roof sub-panel; so the whole interior panel needs to be carefully pulled down going from one end to the other...a little at a time. That old plastic can easily crack from the stress of removing it.
Is there any way you can leave ONLY that part in place and mask around it to shoot it 'as assembled'? It would be better to remove it. I just don't know if it would be easier to remove it. Also, you have to take care when you re-install it; you can't just hit it back in place with the heel of your hand.
P.S. I hope you are recoloring your interior parts with interior DYE and not regular paint. Do a SEARCH on "Interior Dye" to learn the difference.
