Anyone have and/or can post pictures video of Mickey Thompson tires with front Sportsman S/T and rear ET Street S/S tire setup?
Thanks
Rick
Hi Rick. I got your PM. I had a number of great shots of the Vette in my back yard but they were hosted on Photobucket and they are lost forever due to some very poor policy choices by them. I bailed years ago. I'm currently at a track event for my other Vette. When that's over I'd be happy to take some fresh shots to post for you. If you don't hear from me within a few days please shoot me a reminder because things are a bit hectic right now.
Thanks Rick. I knew I'd be running my *** off this week and I was not disappointed. I finally wrapped up a big repair yesterday. I'll try to put some pics up today.
Rick, it's been many years since I first started running 275s back there. I remember reading at the time that the E-brake cable bracket needed to be moved. I can't remember if I had to do that or if I just ground some of the bracket back for clearance. Just take a good look at it and account for some sidewall flex to be safe.
The grip is impressive over stock tires (am feeling like “oh boy I hope nothing breaks”). Regarding cornering I've played around with a lot of individual suspension setups (tweaks) including different rear sway bar thicknesses, I left it with a loose driving condition (my preference). Now with the grip of this new tire setup it is back to push condition, so I’ll go back to a thicker rear bar again to dial it back to looser condition. I'm glad I stayed with 15" tires.
Fun stuff!

Glad you're happy and that you know how to adjust things to your preference. Those drag radials will definitely add some grip and they should be fine at 30-32 PSI for overall use. I run less in mine because....well, big block. Enjoy!
I’m thinking about getting 255/60/15 for both front and rears, like yours. is there any rubbing from the front tire when turning or making sharp turns?
There on. Mickey Thompson tires with front Sportsman S/T P245/60R15 and rear ET Street S/S P255/60R15. Pics belowThanks for everyone’s help! Rick
why did you pick this set up? Are there benefits for putting sportsman’s in the front and et street s/s in the rears? Why not just have all four sportsman’s or all 4 ET Street S/S? Genuinely curious, I have a 77, I like how your fitment looks, I’m thinking about doing the same sizes to mine. 255 in the rear, and 245 in the front. For the rear did the tire stick out of the finder? It kind of looks like It doesn’t in the photo, but figured I’d ask. Since my goal is to get the widest tire possible without it sticking out of the finder.
Also did the front tires rub when turning or making sharp turns?
