So I have been cleaning up my 69 (350) for a bit and it is time to drop the engine back in. My question is related to starter wiring. I am using a torque start so I really only have "B" and "S" terminal. My understanding is the "B" terminal will have the Batt and 12 GA wire and the "S" terminal will have the purple 12GA and yellow (on some vettes pink) which comes off the coil. Lastly, the 10 GA black wire will do the the outside mounting bolt.
Can someone please let me know if this is correct?
For proper wiring of a 'points' type ignition/starting system, your starter solenoid needs to have R (run) & S (start) terminals, as well as the main Battery (+) connection. If you have an aftermarket electronic ignition system which does not need the stock ballast resistance wire on the coil, then you need the starter solenoid with only the "S" terminal on it.
