Again, I am a newbie to vettes, but have above average mechanical skills. I have 2 questions:

1. I am trying to take the A pillar cover off to dye. I see the top screw. Does the dash pad top have to be removed to get to the other screw? or is there another way to take it out without removing dash top.

2. Want to work on the electrical system in the car. When I bought it, the following electrical items were not working: No Key Buzzer, No Fasten Seat belt light, No Courtesy lights come on when opening doors. Back courtesy light will go on if i put the bulb in it, but it wont turn off, No Emergency Brake Notification, No Cigarette lighter light, Wipers work, but washer does not. It seems that most of the issues are all interior electrical.

Is this a harness issue? Again, newbie and need some help. Thanks

The A pillar has two of those plastic 'inter-meshing' pads which attach into mating members on the A-pillar. You need to remove any outward attachment hardware, then use a plastic pry to work under the interior piece and pop it loose. You should know that the new pads will NOT inter-mesh with the original pads. I drilled the old ones off the old pillar covers and also from the new covers and put the old pads on the new parts. worked fine. Also, the aftermarket pieces are not shaped exactly like the originals; they are dead-straight, rather than having a slight curve in them as coming from the factory. Get creative and they can fit fine. These are common problems with the aftermarket interior pieces...and they have been that way for at least a decade without any vendors DEMANDING a fix.

Your best source of GOOD replacement interior pieces is to purchase salvaged vintage parts at swap meets, etc. Minor repairs, good cleanup, and recoloring with matching vinyl dye will make old parts look brand new--for a fraction of what the aftermarket vendors want for POOR QUALITY product. If I were in the business, I would refuse to buy that cr@p until it was made properly. But, money rules......

P.S. Those electrical issues are relatively easy to fix. But, they each need a separate discussion. You will discover that there are subtle details regarding access and removal of such items in the CORRECT MANNER to keep from damaging things MORE while you are attempting a fix. You are correct to ask for info and advice, but one at a time, please. Also, you can use the SEARCH function in this website to research and learn about the topic you mentioned, AHEAD of asking for detailed advice. If the info you need is readily available without waiting for a response, isn't that easier for you than waiting on the computer to answer? If you can't find what you need via SEARCH, we will try to offer the info you need.

Welcome to the madness ? what year is your cargos getting back to the a pillar you don't have to take off the dash pad there should be screws just on top and your electric problems first check fuses then to replace bulbs in the center console it has to come out and the problem with courtesy lights are with the switches inside the door jam, check if you have power going to them and if your wire harness is old you should replace all of them good luck
