I'm in the middle of a caliper rebuild / brake pad replacement / brake hose replacement project. Determined I needed to pull the rotors too as they were near (some below) the min. thickness requirement. Pulled the rear driver side rotor off last night (love drilling out the rivets) and this spring feel out when I pulled the rotor off. Clearly broken on one side, but I searched the AIM and can't find anything on the parking break, rear suspension, wheel mechanism or brake system that would indicate a spring like this. Just curious if anyone knows what it's for since it's kind of a unique spring design.
One has to remember the AIM is for factory parts to be installed only. So if a particular item was a complete assembly at the provider it will not give you an item by item parts install in the AIM.
Thanks, this is perfect. Also found a youtube video online that's pretty helpful. Mine's a '69. Now I'm at the point of questioning whether I should just pull the parking break pads apart, clean and rebuild since I need to replace this spring anyway.
