Default Bryar Blue

I have a Bryar Blue 72 that I want to get repainted. I have read that people are having trouble getting the correct color. Has anyone had their Bryar Blue car repainted recently if so did you have problems with color match. If you found correct match what did you use. Thanks in advance

On your car, look at the headlight bezels to see if they still look accurately colored. You can also find unfaded paint under the door sills. Have a color analysis done on these areas, buy a pint, and spray out a color test with automotive clear. Adjust the mix until you get a good match. The key to this method is accurate data tracking of the original base and color tone units as well as all adjustments and the clear coat brand and product line.

You may elect to hire a painter who is experienced in color matching to work the process through to having a couple gallons mixed up.

My car had been repainted at least two times according to the layers of paint and primer- always Bryar Blue- and then stripped to the glass when I had it restored- so I have no way of knowing what paint was original of the few places that I suspected it might be.

Under side of the gas cap, behind the lower rear window trim, and behind one headlight bezel are the only locations I think I saw original paint and the gas cap has since been repainted.

The other 2 spots just look too much like overspray to really get a good idea.

My car was painted with Glasurit and all I can say is yes, it's beautiful but trying to match it is a chore. For example, I think the guy that painted my car may have prepped the metal pieces the same as the fiberglass so the primer was actually losing contact with gas lid and side fender grilles.

I had those 3 pieces repainted using a scanner and the RH grille and gas door look real close, almost no need to blend (and I haven't yet- maybe when driving season is over) but then the LH grille is like blue green on a blue green purple car. It matches when I lay on the ground but when I stand up the car changes color but the grille doesn't.

It sounds like you may have already heard what you need from someone else but I have nothing else to do at this hour.

By the way, I've never seen another Bryar Blue at a show but I admittedly haven't been to Carlisle or Bloomington/St. Charles/ Indy in a long time.

The one I did see was at stop light outside Fort Myers. Small block coupe - my car's twin.

What are the odds...

Oh, and my most valuable tool in my garage is touch up paint that matches.
