Adjusting tie rod ends
I just rebuild my front suspension. I checked my alignment and found out I have an 1-1/2 inches of toe-in! Oops. How do we I adjust the tie rods with out marring the new Moog parts? With lots of struggling my channel locks work and leave huge gouges. I've tried a strap wrench and cannon plug pliers but neither can get a grip.
Anyone have an easier way of doing this? Are the tie rods supposed to be this hard to turn (and yes I have completed loosed the clamps)?

Place some large heavy duty plastic bags under the front tires so the tires will slip when you adjust the tie rods.

I've been trying to adjust the the tie-rods with the wheels off the ground.

Are you sure you put the control arms (left & right) on the correct sides of the frame?

Buy a tie rod adjusting tool, it grabs the slot in the sleeve.

Your local parts store should have one. Lisle makes them, among others.

Thank you for the tie rod adjusting tool suggestions. This looks like what I need.
