My winter job this year will be replacing rear strut rods. The only way it looks on my 1980 to do that would be to move the spring back or second option is to remove the strut rod bracket that is bolted to the differential. Has anyone done this? I cannot pull the cam bolt out because the spring is behind it that is
why I may try to remove the rod bracket instead.
I tried to do a simple strut rod upgrade. It ballooned into a complete rear end rebuild, replacing or rebuilding everything. I did end up taking the bracket off, but the kicker was the other end of the strut rods, where they connect to the trailing arms. Here's a recent thread on that. I had to cut the trailing arms out of the car with the strut rods attached.
