Default Help finding this connector

Hi Guys,
I'm looking to replace this connector. Its for the rear window defogger on my '79 and plugs into the fuse block. Everything works now, looks like it got a little warm in the past. Not that this is a show car or even close, I just cant, well ya know, put this connector back like that. Does anybody know where I can find one???

Thanks in advance.

Looking at the 79 line diagram it looks to me that the orange/black single wire uses connector housing GM #12004883.
I can't find the 12004883 but I can find the 12004884 connector on e-bay.
These are Metric and hard to find.
Here is 4884 PDF drawing.
https://www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/1...84-1161558.pdf
And color photo what the 4884 looks like.

Good Luck!

Sorry that you didn't find what you needed from my link, BUT...This would be another place to check. That is not an uncommon type of connector really. Is that a single spade type? You might be able to use the HEI Tach connector as well for that or Batt connector.

Thanks for all the leads. Unfortunately, none of them have this connector. Well, thats not totally true....bmotojoes lead, connectorpeople has it, but their minimum buy is 98 pieces and thats 97 more than I need. lol. American Autowire has a great selection of Packard Series 56/59 connectors and terminals that are used all over our cars. Good to know about that.
Buccaneer, yes, its a single spade, but the locking tab on the connectors you mention is different and won't be secure in the fuse block, if they even fit. Thanks anway....

bmotojoe, I found the 12004884 on ebay. There wasn't a picture of it, but for $4.26, I'll take the chance. Thanks for the lead. Won't be here till Nov 12.

This may or may not help:
If the 12004884 housing you ordered doesn't fit that BAT socket your Defogger is plugged into now it looks as if you have 2 other BAT sockets just left of the flasher relay you could try, that is if either of those BAT sockets are not already used.
I would guess the other sockets were used for the Cruise Control harness GM #12004888 the other maybe Power Window harness GM #12004029.
Here is a end view of the 4884 housing you ordered. Also the 4888 housing called out for the Cruise Control showing how the index tab differs between connector housings.
GM did this for a reason.
I guess you could always file off a portion of the index tab and the housing will still lock into the socket.
Other than that the housings look uniform to each other from the drawings I have found.

Looks like Corvette Central has the entire harness. Maybe give them a call and speak with one of the parts / tech support people. May be possible to get just the single wire and clip rather than the entire wire harness?

Hope you find the connector you are searching for and was just wondering after looking at the pic again, is that connector melted on the end? If so, did you find the reason that happened or are you going to just replace it?

Default Salvage

Maybe call Dino’s Corvette Salvage in Mississippi. They sell a lot of recovered items. May be able to pull you one off an old C3 in the yard.https://corvettesalvage.com/

Yup, its melted. Once I get the new plug, I'll test the rear window defogger piece by piece, bringing it back online one section at a time.

Yeah, Went that route previously. These guys are middle men for the harness manufactures, they don't actually build the harnesses. As a matter of fact, Ecklers says the harness ships directly from the manufacturer.

They're called "ATO Fuse Box Power Taps". Here's a set. I believe they all have different shapes and can only be inserted in one location and I can only find them in sets.
