What is the correct name for this part?
Shock mount? Where can I get a replacement? Has anyone ever seen one bent like this! Sure surprised me , as I was taking things apart to replace the trailing arm bushings .
Bair's has their own made here in the US. If you're buying them from someone else, ask whose they are or where they're from, because there are foreign made ones available too. The foreign made ones appear to be of good quality, and cost about the same as the ones from Bair's, so why buy the overseas ones.
Isn't there two different sizes ? Not left or right , but didn't they change thread size sometime along the run ?
F41 cars use a different shock mount, it is "offset".
IIRC the regular cars use 2 different forgings (left and right) and the F41 piece is a single forging machined for left and right.
Sometimes they can get damaged because its one of the lower hanging parts on the rear.
from the car dropping on a flat, hung up on a curb with enough of the sidewall compressing or the wheel falling into a pothole.
