Quadrajet Question
My 72 gets hard to start after a few days so I decided to rebuild the carb. it's pretty clean and someone has been in it before because they made the epoxy modification to the bowl plugs. . In a video I watched on rebuilding, it shows a plastic cup that inserts next to the fuel bowl. Mine doesn't have one. I found a supplier online that sells used ones as they are no longer available and he has 3 different ones. I can tell that they all fit into a recess on the carb body. My carb has no recess, and the diagram from where I bought the rebuild kit does not show this parts in the parts diagram. I'm thinking maybe this model carb didn't use a cup? I'm not sure what purpose it serves. My car ran fine except for the hard starting. Any thoughts?
