My car came with a long hood and I am in the process of returning it to the original hood and wiper assembly. I purchased a wiper assembly but it seems stuck. I lubed all the joints with some teflon grease but still nothing. I bought a new bushing kit but the rivets looks difficult to r&r so Id rather just try to free this one up first. Any suggestions?
Are you trying to move it via the actuator rod as it would operate normally?
There's a surprising amount of torque on the spring in there and although it's not much actual pressure (vacuum) on the actuator it's a lot when you are trying to pull it manually, sideways while leaning over the fender. And really hard trying to lift it from the top

Then you're going about it the right way, try a good penetrant (PB blaster, kroil, etc) and let it sit overnight
Pushing in on the rod to raise the assembly (IIRC) is the best bet (rather than trying to pull up on those case aluminum/white metal brackets)
Check to see if anything has gone over-center and is jambed. Don't start prying on anything
if it's really stuck I'd be tempted to pull it back out and clamp it to the workbench were you can get at it easier

Years ago I had the same issue. It seemed whatever penetrant I threw at it would just get laughed at. I finally stood it upright in a small bucket, used the 1/2 acetone - 1/2 ATF solution to soak the end with. It took quite a while, but eventually came free a little at a time. As stated, pull from the actuator handle. Good luck
The bracket is already up and thats the position its frozen in, so on the bar, do I push in or pull out?
Push in on the rod (towards the rear of the car) to raise the wiper door, pull out to lower it (the service manual said to pop the rubber plug out of the front of the actuator and press in on the diaphragm with a screwdriver to manually open the door in case of a vacuum failure)
