Default Power Windows

I have a 1975 coupe. Today I picked up my car from the paint/collision shop. I had the car painted and it came out beautiful. However, when I brought in the car I also gave them two new power window regulators and motor and asked them to replace the old ones because they were not working properly. However, today when I picked it up they said that they replaced the regulators and the motors but the window would not work properly. They go down, but do not go up. When I questioned it, they claimed that it might have been because of aftermarket parts. I bought the parts from Eckler as I had bought other products without any issues. I feel that they are grasping at straws. Does anyone have any idea what may cause the window issue and any possible solutions ? Is there any type of test I can perform?

The shop probably wired the motors incorrectly. There is a two pin plug on each; but the pins are NOT 12vdc and ground. They are both for 12vdc input; one for UP and one for DOWN. Ground is connected to a separate single black wire with connector.

That's my 'guess'.

P.S. Never give a 'mechanical' shop and 'electronic' task.......

my guess?
1-they didn't wind the regulators or wound (sp?) them incorrectly...although they were probably already attached to the motor, i assume you gave them a whole assembly, not a separate motor and regulator.
2- unless the shop rewired your plugs,(meaning ran there own new wiring from a ground and a 12v source into your plugs, which as stated above and in the Wilcox pic, the plugs are not + and Neg)) they only plug in one way. Meaning if the managed to plug them in backwards they would still work ...but backwards.
3-they would have taken out the scissor lift mechanism, if put back incorrectly it definitely could bind on the way down..or up
4- almost forgot....that brown wire that plugs into the front of the fuse box...it may have come out!

I gave them a seprate regulator and motor. I installed the one on the drivers side. The mechanism worked perfectly, however I was having difficulty putting the glass back on. That is all they did to the one side, and now its not working.

Be sure to lube the tracks, gears, etc.
It is truly amazing what a little lube can do. Wipe out the old, sticky grease as much as possible and put a rag behind the tracks--against the door skin-- and spray it. I think I used some spray lithium grease. I was expecting to have to rebuild the 40yr old doors, but just a good cleaning and lube made it work 90% better.
It's usually better to disassemble everything if you can, but you can get amazing results with everything in place.
Check the plugs on the switches. The have a tendency to get loose and sometimes don't make good contact.
