Along the lines of the unknown part coming from the clutch parts, the H could stand for Hays... but I couldn't find a logo or id for Hays that matched that.

So, I checked the old clutch assemblies and couldn't find any missing piece that looked like my unidentified part that's on the black tape in the photos below:
It also doesn't look like it could come from the clutch fork or throwout bearing.
I still don't know what/where it came from. The clutch had been changed about 1 or 2 years before the car was stored, so perhaps it's from the old clutch assembly.
OR, is there any such part that goes inside the pilot bearing or on the end of the transmission input shaft?
At a glance, I'm thinking it was an end cap for one of the friction disc springs? Do any of the other springs have a wafer thin end cap?
Just a guess.

Good guess Marshal, I thought you might have hit it at first, but when I checked, I couldn't see any such disc on the end of the springs. I even cut a spring out of the friction plate and there were no discs on either end...
