Default New carpet

Anyone know what the heavy cardboard like material that the carpet is attached to that goes down the transmission tunnels is called and where to get it. Thanks

Do you mean the 1978-1982 console side panels? The leather ones from (formerly) Corvette America are very nice, and stupidly expensive. I'll make my next set out of sheet ABS plastic, not cardboard, and cover them myself.

Corvette Mods appears to have the panels themselves:

Yes,79 L-82 console cover. Mine is covered with carpet but broken in several places but can’t figure out the base material. I made new ones from stuff like a peg board but didn’t confirm well to contours.

Thanks, that is the material I was trying to think of. My CRS is getting worse with each passing year.
